I am ready to start planning to have a baby. Can you offer any healthy advice?

by Janet L. Rowe

Congratulations! You are at that place in life when having children has become a goal. How wonderful, as there is no love like a child’s love, and personally, I think everybody should have at least one child.

Having a happy, healthy baby starts with you and your partner’s health. It is important to prepare your bodies mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually so that your little one is healthy on all levels, and doesn’t inherit issues. Have you and your partner prepared yourselves mentally for the changes of having a baby around full time? Have you had all the discussions about the finances and what 24/7 care is going to look like? Having open communication about the responsibilities is important.

Emotionally, both the Mom and Dad should be in a happy place and loving each other, and not doing this life-changing event due to pressure from one or the other, or from the grandparents. Baby should be created out of love and desire. Imagine the impact on a child’s emotions knowing that they weren’t wanted, or that they were a mistake? Having a baby should be for the right reasons! We should be prepared to give our children guidance and love, discipline, and acceptance. This will give them confidence so that they can develop to be all that they can be.

Spirituality (or religion) and schooling needs be discussed, along with morals, work ethic, and nutrition and belief systems. These reflect your family guidance and how they become incorporated in raising your children.

Last but not least - and to me, this is very important - is the physical! Our bodies should be clean and healthy. It is proven that children inherit less stuff if both Mom and Dad do cleansing of their bodies. And today that just doesn’t mean colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, uterus, ovaries and/or the urinary tract, but also chemical metal toxicity, which has become very important for mental and emotional brain development. For example, children born with autism were found to have lead and other heavy metals inherited from the parents. We should also feed our bodies after cleansing them to make sure we have enough calcium, minerals, vitamins and omega’s 3/6/9, folic acid and B vitamins to develop baby without taking it out of our own body.

I have given you lots to think about. Get guidance and prepare for baby the right way! Detox in all areas of your life and have a happy, healthy baby!
